Tom Booth took over at the Brownhills Group in October 2007 as CEO with clear instructions from shareholders. The objective was to complete a balance sheet and footprint review in order to strengthen the company and enhance it's overall offering to the motorhome community.  The culmination of this work is that the company is now able to announce a subject to contract agreement to a massive £20m financial re-engineering of the balance sheet which includes £7m of new investment and which will facilitate improvements in motorhome marques and facilities offered across motorhomes. The new structure focuses on sales, aftercare, finance, stock and franchising. This allows Brownhills; Europes largest motorhome retailer, to continue to build its reputation as the only major player who also chooses to operate exclusively in the motorhome sector, thereby avoiding dilution of resource and knowledge by remaining outside other sectors such as caravanning and camping.

As part of the company's restructure Brownhills has moved its Westcroft American Motorhomes Division to the 15 acre, purpose built site comprising the company's Newark Destination Centre - offering the biggest single display of motorhomes in Europe.  Preston has just increased its two acre site to six acres, with further plans to completely overhaul the site during the coming 2 years.  The results will be an impressive Hymer statement for the UK .

The satellite operations in Newcastle , Swindon and Canterbury continue to grow. The Newcastle business has recently relocated to larger premises on Durham Road . The Canterbury site has doubled in size with an adjacent acquisition of land and buildings. To ease congestion at the Swindon operation, Brownhills has acquired an off-site warehouse and parking area.

In summary, the Group is determined to provide its customers with an unprecedented level of choice and increasing levels of service.

Tom said: "The £20million financial re-engineering and footprint review is placing Brownhills in a much stronger position to meet the growing needs of the motorhome community. The continuing improvements in facilities and aftercare coupled with our sole focus being purely on Motorhomes, can only be good news for our customers and manufacturer partners."

As part of the strategic review and to improve service, Brownhills discontinued sales of TEC, Euromobile, Hobby and Lunar vans in autumn 2007.  At the same time, the company secured an exclusive UK distribution arrangement with the high-spec, extremely competitively priced; Carado range from the Hymer Group and other representation projects continue to progress.

Tom concludes: "With the Team's commitment to the new challenges ahead and with substantial and renewed financial strength, Brownhills can develop already superb sales results and even smash through the 6,000 unit barrier over the next couple of years or so."
